No Man’s Sky
Style: Rogue-like Adventure
Publisher/Developer: Hello Games
Release Date: June 2016
The folks over at Hello Games blew the collective minds of every gamer in the world at their conference during this year’s E3. When Sean Murray pulled back the camera to show off how many planets and galaxies were within the universe I was in awe for the first time in a long time. You can become a pirate, or a resource harvester, maybe an explorer, a wildlife documenter or a cartographer. But maybe the coolest thing about this game is that others will see if you discovered a planet and you can even name the wildlife. Pretty cool huh?

This game looks like the kind of experience that people will talk about for years. Follow Henry, a newly-employed fire lookout, who travels around Shoshone National Park while communicating via walkie-talkie with his supervisor Delilah. As you walk around the park you will find clues and try to figure out why someone ransacked your lookout tower. The game also looks beautiful and if you’re into exploring then go ahead and jump on the hype train.
Horizon Zero Dawn
Style: Action RPG
Publisher/Developer: Sony Computer Entertainment/Guerrila Games
Release Date: 2016
Not much is known about the game since it was only revealed at this years E3 but some things are for sure. There are huge robotic dinosaurs, a bow and arrow because video games are just cooler with them, and it’s an RPG. Other than that the game looks absolutely gorgeous and this should be on everyones list.
